Question 7: Looking Back At Your Preliminary Task What Do You Feel You Have Learnt In The Progression From It To The Full Product?

Question 7

At the very beginning of this task we firstly had to make a prelim task to gain a vague understanding as to what we'd be doing. On the right is my prelim displayed.
This is my final piece for my music magzine front cover, instantly
i can see a large progression form the prelim to the final piece,
some easy examples would be the use of cover lines as on my prelim
they are very vague and very randomly placed and look strange,
the use of colour has progressed greatly too with my final using very simialr colours to show the branding etc. Other things such as the photos used are much clearer and better and also the fact that my final piece looks far more professional than my original piece. The layout of my final product compared with my prelim task makes it look far more organised therefore making it look very professional just like a real music magazine (like Kerrang, Metal Hammer and NME), other simple things such as the barcode and the price also add to this

Question 6: What Have You Learnt About Technologies From The Process Of Constructing This Product?

Question 6

For the creation and construction of my media product I used many different technologies. For example one of those being Serif Pageplus X6 which was the main program I was using to actually construct my product, with the ability to place/create and . This helped massively with my construction, it allowed me to create each separate page (front cover, contents page and double page spread), it was also an easy access piece of technology as I could use it from school and even at home.

Blogger was another program in which I used, however this was not for the construction section, this was for uploading my work and it was where I was able to gain any form of feedback from my teacher on any piece of work I submitted (whether it be finished or not). This feedback that I gained helped me with my construction to improve/add or change parts to a
higher standard.

My Canon 1100D SLR was another decent piece of technology that benefitted my construction, it meant that I was able to take my own pictures wherever an whenever I wanted. Considering it is an SLR camera as well, it meant that I was able to acquire some much better photos than I would've been able to get with a standard compact camera that the school would've provided

Question 3: What Kind Of Media Institution Might Distribute Your Media Product And Why?

Question 3

I think that IPC would be a good media institution for my music magazine to be distributed with. I think this because some of the other magazines that they currently publish are very popular and up to date. NME is one of the magazines that they publish and is very popular around the country. Although I think that NME has a different target audience and a different genre to mine, I still think that my magazine would work nicely against it. IPC only publish one music magazine so adding another on to their collect to benefit them as it would be. The institution distributes lots of well known magazines such as Look magazine which is very popular. My target audience would be males aged 15-20 and this is because I want to bring them into my magazine and try and get more males to read magazine.  I chose this age gap because this generation of people are the people to be most interested in music and the celebrities featured in my magazine. Also some of the content in the magazine would defiantly appeal to this age

I need to see your ICT methods per question please. This isn't really planning of your ideas - it is just things you need to do. Don't forget that your next deadline is on Monday.
